De Proveniershof in Haarlem is also different from other courtyards. In any case, it is a large courtyard, with an inner garden that is used by the residents to sunbathe or dry their laundry. The address is Grote Houtstraat 144, the houses, like most courtyards, have the letter of the alphabet. However, there are so many houses in the Proveniershof that the letter z is passed over. In the corner there is an old tree, a wingnut, under which I can take shelter during a tour of the city if it suddenly starts to rain, which has happened quite often lately. It has become my regular place to tell the special story about this courtyard.
