Behind the tower of the Grote or Sint Bavokerk, on the Grote Markt in Haarlem, a thunderstorm is threatening. The tower, completed in 1520, is clearly visible in its gray and gold. In my city tours for the tourist office I always ask: what do you think, what is this tower made of?
